Odisha Election Watch to receive National CSO Award

Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: Election commission of India has selected Odisha Election Watch, the state chapter of National Election Watch to confer the National CSO Award 2015 for the best campaign on voter education and awareness for General Election 2014 for its commendable election related measures in the State of Odisha.The award shall be presented on National Voters’ Day at New Delhi on January 25.Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, State Coordinator, Odisha Election Watch will receive the award.Odisha Election Watch with an aim to strengthen and promote good governance with a view to further democratise polity at all levels started its journey the year 2004 and educating cross sections of the society towards political and Electoral reforms.It has undertaken a focused campaign during the Elections 2014 i.e.My Vote My Country.The campaign aims at increasing voters’ turnover, voters’ participation and promoting ethical voting.Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) is coordinating the National process of Election Watch whereas PECUC, a leading civil society organisation in Odisha is coordinating the State process of Election Watch.
