Odisha Channel Bureau Paradip, June 25: Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) organised a two-day National Seminar on “Environmental Challenges and Global Warming” at Paradip.This is an initiative of the trade union body to appraise the industries about the environmental hazards, how to protect the ecology and address the issues regarding global warming.Representatives from different Trade Unions from India and abroad attended the seminar.On this occasion all the Seminar delegates visited Paradeep Phosphates Limited’s plant site to oversee various environment protection and conservation mechanism installed at the fertilizer plant site.Vast expanse of the greenery and scenic beauty of the plant campus won appreciative gesture from delegates.Nitin Kantak, VP (Mfg.) briefed the delegation about the various steps taken by the company to preserve the ecology in and around Plant Site.A pictorial presentation on ‘Flora & Fauna of PPL’ and various environmental protection initiatives were made by PPL officials.All the delegates participated in a ceremonial plantation programme at Plant Site.The delegation was lead by Rajendra Prasad Singh, president, Hind Mazdoor Sabha, Jennifer Mary Luck of Sweden, Sherde Sudarshan Rao, Rakeswar Pandey and other national and international level Trade Union leaders.The delegates appreciated PPL’s initiatives on environmental protection and conservation of Flora and Fauna.
