Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar: Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF), the CSR wing of IMFA announces the 11th edition of ‘Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship for Higher Education’ to six meritorious students for pursuing their respective degree courses.Instituted in the year 2005, this scholarship was given to four meritorious students of Odisha till 2013 every year, two for wards of IMFA employees and two for wards of financial weaker section of society other than IMFA employees, qualifying for professional courses.As per the management decision, the number of scholarship to non-employee category students has increased to four.Hence the total number has now become six, according to an official release.This year five students have been selected from non-employee category to have this prestigious scholarship, as only one student got eligible from IMFA employee category.Under non-employee category, Sumit Kumar Sindhria, son of Narangadhar Sindhria and Jyotsna Sindhria, resident of Jamankira, Dist: Sambalpur, Biswajit Mallik, son of Late Akshaya Kumar Mallik & Late Rangalata Mallik resident of Manpur, Dist: Kendrapara, Soumya Ranjan Tripathy son of Shiba Prasad Tripathy & Anjalibala Tripathy, resident of Anandapur, Dist: Balasore, Soumya Ranjan Nayak, son of Nrusingha Charan Nayak & Shantilata Nayak, resident of Jakhapura, Dist: Jajpur, Sarojini Pani, daughter of Ajaya Kumar Pani & Satyabhama Pani, resident of Korua, Dist: Bhadrak are selected to get the scholarship this year.Pani and Mallik are pursuing MBBS at SCB Medical college, Cuttack, and MKCG Medical College, Berhampur, while Sindhria, Tripathy and Nayak are doing B.Tech at IIT, Ropar, Punjab and VSSUT, Burla, Odisha respectively.Under employee category, Sahib Mohammad, son of Sabir Mohammad, Emp ID: 1907, IMFA, THV has got this scholarship.He is pursuing his B.Tech in Metallurgy at Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar. Each of the selected candidates will get 90 per cent of their total admission, tuition and hostel fees covering a maximum of one lakh rupees per annum.
