Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar: The School of Minerals, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India and the Engineering Center of Materials Manufacturing, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 26th May 2016.The MoU was signed by Prof.R.V.Rajakumar, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar and Dr.Mingxu Xia of SJTU, China (on behalf of Prof.Jianguo Li) during the state visit of the President of India to China from 24-27th May 2016.The MoU was signed at Peking University, Beijing, China in the presence of the President which was also attended by a delegation of some Directors of IITs/NITs and Vice Chancellors of Central Universities of India and Minister of Textiles, Government of India, Education Minister of China and top academicians from China. This MoU is one of the 10 MoUs signed between Indian and Chinese universities on the occasion.The School of Minerals, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar would like to collaborate with SJTU in the areas of solidification and processing of light metals and composites, modelling and simulation of materials, fuels cells and batteries, nanomaterials, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and recycling of materials.The MOU includes exchange of researchers including faculty members, post-doctoral fellows, senior undergraduate students and graduate students, the exchange of scholarly and pedagogical materials, the coordination of collaborative research programs, joint workshops and conferences and facilitating student internship and entrepreneurships, according to an official release.
