6-year-old molested by 16-year-old neighbour

Odisha Channel Bureau Kendrapara, Dec 8: A 6-year-old minor girl was allegedly molested by her 16-year-old juvenile neighbour in Mohu village under Aul police station of Kendrapara district of Odisha on Sunday.The incident occurred when the girl, a Standard-II student of nearby government-run primary school was alone at her home.The juvenile delinquent, who was arrested today from a relative’s house in Bhadrak, is incidentally a plus two first year student of a college in Balasore. Police officials said that the matter came to light when the girl narrated the incident to her mother after which, a complaint was lodged with the police.Both the victim girl and the juvenile delinquent were medically examined, said Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kedar Kumar Sahoo.Police arrested the juvenile under Section 354 of Indian Penal Code.The arrested juvenile was produced in the Juvenile Justice Board, which later remanded him to reformatory home in Angul, police said.
