Odisha Channel Bureau Jajpur, July 8: An 18-year-old boy has been arrested in Odisha’s Jajpur district for allegedly posting objectionable pictures of his minor girlfriend in social media after she rejected his request to keep illicit affair with him.The culprit, identified as Satyajit Swain (18) of Rahala village under Balichandrapur police station limits in the district, is a Plus Two student in a local college.Police have also arrested three aides of the accused, identified as Shaik Saikat Ali (21), Shaik Nazul Islam (21) and Nisar Khan (22) who assisted Satyajit him in the crime.They all were arrested on Tuesday after a complaint filed with the local police by the father of the minor girl who is also a Plus Two student in the same college where the accused pursuing his studies.Police said, Satyajit fell in love with the 17 year-old girl who belongs to the same locality.About six months ago, he took the girl to a nearby tourist spot in pretext of spending some time with her alone.There he clicked the obscene photographs of the victim in his mobile phone.The accused then allegedly pressurized the minor girl to develop an illicit affair with him by showing her the obscene pictures.When she rejected the proposal, the accused circulated her obscene pictures in public through Facebook and Whatsapp.The girl’s father was alerted by a known person about the obscene images and later he approached police on Monday.“Both the accused and the victim were in love for the last six months.The accused took the victim to a tourist spot to spend some time with her alone.The accused took the victim to the hilltop of the spot and clicked obscene photographs.He uploaded the obscene photographs on Facebook and Whatsapp after she refused to fall prey to his blackmail tactics,” said Sarat Patra, inspector-in-charge of Balichandrapur police station.Based on the FIR, police arrested the accused and he admitted to have committed the crime.Basing on his revelation, police arrested another three youths who assisted the accused in circulating the obscene photographs of the victim.Police have also seized four mobile phones from their possession containing obscene pictures of the victim.The arrested youths were forwarded to the court today and later remanded to judicial custody after their bail pleas were rejected, police said.
