Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar.April 12: RAAS, an initiative to promote upscale designer handloom products from Odisha, has introduced new exclusive designer menswear collection in its studio in the city for the first time today.The new designer collection of menswear includes a wide variety of men’s jackets or waistcoats, shirts and kurtas etc made of Odisha handloom in hi-fashion designs.RAAS offers a vintage line of contemporary designer ensembles which have been produced from traditional Odia weaving techniques of Ikat, Bomkai, Sambalpuri, Pasapalli and other weaving styles fused with latest fashions and design trends.Earlier, this fashion studio has showcased many designers women’s wear while for the first time it has launched wide range of trendy designer men’s wear including jacket, shirt and kurtas with artistic weaving skills to match the contemporary taste and utility without taking away from their traditional beauty and all the men’s wear products are made of Odisha’s handloom.In men’s wear one can find new trendy designer shirts, jackets and kurtas in vibrant colors and contemporary style.There is also some fresh collection of its newest creations of women’s wear including Anarkali dresses, kurtis, sarees, lehengas, stoles, coats, shrugs, quilts and home furnishing products.Speaking on the occasion RAAS founder patron Rashmi Mohapatra said, “We are continuously watching the trend and the needs of the customers and since we are in the business for more than a year.We always consider putting up a wonderful collection of Odisha handloom with modern touch weaved by highly skilled weavers from Odisha in our studio so as to serve well to the customers’ requirements and preferences”.“Today I am so excited with launching of exclusive men’s designer wear at RAAS which I feel will definitely add glamour to men’s style statement and make them look special and unique by wearing designer outfit from RAAS”.The designer men’s wear collections were launched by Arvind Padhee, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Government of Odisha at RAAS high fashion design studio near Patia Big Bazaar.The clothes are fabricated by designers specialized in high fashion garments.Highly skilled weavers from Odisha weave for RAAS to designs given by the Rashmi Mohapatra’s team of designers under the guidance of internationally acclaimed fashion designer Pritam Panda.RAAS aims to promote the cause of Odisha handloom artisans by sharing a portion of its profits for the upliftment and upkeep of families of participating weavers.
