Rajkumar MohantyPuri, June 24: Chief Administrator of Jagannath Temple Administration Suresh Chandra Mahapatra today suspended Kasinath Dasmahapatra and his son Jayakrushna Dasmahapatra, the two Daitapatis for allegedly creating disturbance during the Brahma Parivartan ceremony on June 15 (Monday) night.Kasinath Dasmahapatra is the elder brother of Ramakrushna Dasmahapatra, the president of the Daitapati Nijog, while Jayakrushna is his nephew. It is learnt that Haladhar Dasmahapatra, the Badagrahi of Balabhadra and Nabakishore Patimahapatra, the Badagrahi of Sudarshan, who were entrusted with the responsibility to perform the Brahma Parivartan had in their statement filed with the Chief Administrator narrated regarding the role of the father-son Daitapati duo who allegedly created trouble causing delay in the Brahma Parivartan ritual.The inquiry by the Chief Administrator of Jagannath Temple Administration is still in progress.The Biswakarmas, Acharya and Saha Sansthapak of the 11-day-long Maha Yajna were scheduled to file their statement on June 25.Meanwhile, the all the male members of Daitapati clan who claim to be the family members of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra today observed the tenth day ceremony under tight security.All the Daitapatis went to the Markand tank and performed the tenth day Kriya for the old departing idols.Four Badagrahi Daitapatis, Biswabasu and Bidyapati tonsured their head and wore new cloths and came to the Lion’s Gate and washed their feet with turmeric and water and went to their houses.Anticipating trouble four platoons of armed police were deployed for observance of this ceremony observed today.
