Odisha Channel Bureau Malkangiri, July 25: Armed Maoists gunned down two local residents of Odisha’s Malkangiri district triggering possible fear of fresh eruption of violence outbreak by ultras. The gunning down of two natives of far flung Badaliguda village occurred Thursday night under Kalimela police station jurisdiction. The ultras authored the cold-blooded killing by firing at the duo from close range.Ultras might have eliminated them as they were under the impression that the duo was acting as police informer, said Sub Divisional Police Officer Pinaki Mishra.Combing operations have been further stepped up in Maoist-infested pockets of Malkangiri.Police and CRPF forces are on the alert keeping track of possible infiltration of ultras from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh in the wake of arrest of high-profile Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda last week, police added.
