Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Aug 18: The family members of Sunita Raita, the tribal nursing student who committed suicide on August 13, have refused to accept the compensation of one lakh rupees that the Odisha Government had announced on Saturday.A day before transferring District Collector of Gajapati Basudev Bahinipati, the State Government had announced ex-gratia of one lakh rupees to be paid to Sunita’s family.Sunita Raita, 21, a BSc nursing student, committed suicide at her village Diptinagar in Gajapati district, after failing to get her stipend money released from the authorities for more than a year.In a suicide note, Sunita had made it clear that failure to get her stipend money was the reason behind her suicide.Bahinipati was posted as Director of AYUSH in Bhubaneswar and Mansi Nimbhal, Project Director of District Rural Development Agency, Mayurbhanj, was posted Collector of Gajapati district on Sunday.
