Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Sep 12: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal president is likely to suspend some of his tainted colleagues and legislators from the party in the days to come.According to reliable sources, Patnaik was considering to suspend a few leaders who had defamed the ruling party for their alleged involvement in the chit fund scam and housing scam. The exercise would be aimed at refurbishing the sagging image of the party. The action against the corrupt leaders may be taken before the BJD begins its Jan Sampark Padyatra from Gandhi Jayanti to Jayaprakash Narayan Jayanti on October 11, according to sources. The Jan Sampark Padyatra or mass contact drive is organised by the BJD every year to reach out to the people by organising Padyatras in various parts of the State.Patnaik was likely to act tough against the tainted leaders as pressure was mounting for the same in the wake of the CBI probe into the chit fund scam and unearthing of the land scam, sources said.
