Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Sep 30: Essel Mining & Industries Ltd.(EMIL) has been awarded Kalinga Safety Award in the category Best Safety Practices by the Odisha State Safety Conclave.The Award was given by H.E.France Morule, the High Commissioner of South Africa to India.It was received by Ajit Patra, AGM (Mines), Jiling and Pramod Mishra, Head Safety & Training (EMIL Iron Ore).The South African High Commissioner to India France Morule was the chief guest of this function.Other dignitaries present in the function were D.N.Padhi, Chairman of OSSC; R.K.Sharma, Principal Secretary, Forest & Environment, Government of Odisha; Ashok Tripathy, Director General-Training Co-ordination of Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Government of Odisha.It is noteworthy that this is the back to back second award in the area of Safety conferred upon EMIL, Iron Ore.In Sep 2014 itself, EMIL was also awarded the Greentech Safety Award in the Silver category (Metals & Mining sector) in the area of safety management.
