Odisha-AssemblyOdisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, Nov 19: As the ruling Biju Janata Dal is facing the heat of the CBI probe into the mega chit fund scam, the State government is likely to have a tough time in the winter session of Odisha Assembly starting on Thursday.Both Congress and BJP have geared up to corner the Naveen Patnaik Government over the chit fund scam particularly in the wake of the arrest of BJD MP from Mayurbhanj Ramachandra Hansdah and BJD legislator from Banki Pravat Tripathy.The session is scheduled to continue till December 20.It will 26 working days.Though the government will present the supplementary budget on the opening day, the arrest of the BJD leaders was likely to be raised by the opposition in the initial few days of the session.The issues relating to the land scam and mining scam too was likely to figure prominently during the remaining days.Several Bills were also scheduled to be tabled in the session.The chit fund probe relating to the Seashore Group is likely to embarrass the BJD government as the CBI was continuing its investigation into the cases pertaining to the Group.The situation may turn worse for Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik if the CBI arrests more of his party leaders during the coming weeks.
