Odisha Channel Bureau Bhubaneswar, April 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkala Dibasa (foundation day of the State).“Wishing my sisters and brothers of Odisha on Utkala Dibasa.My best wishes for Odisha’s progress”, the Prime Minister said in his message today.The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Rourkela today to dedicate the new and modernised plant at Rourkela Steel Plant to the nation.He also expressed delight that he was visiting the State on the occasion of Odisha Day.The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) undertook a massive capacity enhancement programme through the modernisation and expansion of all its plants.Under this current modernisation and expansion (Modex) programme at SAIL, RSP has completed the present phase of Modex and operationalised the new integrated steel making facilities with an investment of Rs.12,000 crores.With the commissioning of ‘Durga’, country’s one of the largest blast furnaces in this phase, RSP has augmented its hot metal capacity from 2 MTPA to 4.5 MTPA.Odisha Governor S.C.Jamir, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and many other dignitaries will remain present during Modi’s visit to Rourkela.
