Odisha Channel Bureau Berhampur, July 20: Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda is being given medical treatment as he had suffered injuries under his left eye, his wife and politician Subhashree Panda told journalists here on Sunday.Subhashree, who met Sabyasachi at the office of the Superintendent of Police here at noon, said that he had been give medicines and eye drops too.Her meeting with Sabyasachi lasted for 10 minutes.Subhashree expressed hope that the police would allow other members of their family to meet Sabyasachi in police custody.Among others who were keen meet Sabyasachi include their daughter, Subhashree’s father and her mother, and Sabyasachi’s elder brother among others.Panda is in police custody for 10 days for his interrogation by the police in connection with various cases.Though Subhashree said that she would remain present during Sabyasachi’s interrogation, the police interrogated the Maoist leader in the presence of is counsel.The interrogation of Sabyasachi was to continue till he is again produced in the court at the expiry of his 10-day police custody remand.The Maoist leader, who was arrested by Odisha police from Badabazar area of Berhampur town, was kept in the Circle jail for a day before the court remanded him to police custody.Sabyasachi’s interrogation was likely to help police in completing investigation in numerous cases including those relating to the murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Swami Lakshmanananda and arms loots in Nayagarh and Gajapati districts.
