Odisha Channel Bureau Nuapada, August 2: An Assistant Sub-Inspector police was grievously injured on Saturday in Odisha’s Nuapada district following murderous attack by a man mentally unstable man.Injured ASI Arun Khilar posted in Sinapali police station is battling for life in a government-run hospital.The incident occurred in Bharumunda village when the ASI flanked by a tram of subordinates had been to the village to nab Sunakar Majhi in connection with a ‘murder-attempt’ case.Majhi who is reportedly mentally unsound took everybody by surprise as he pounced upon ASI Khilar by a sharp edged axe and inflicted multiple injuries upon him.The attack was sudden and unprovoked, said Nuapada Sub Divisional Police Officer, Shantanu Kumar Dash.
