Odisha Channel Bureau Koraput, Oct 20: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit two cyclone hit areas in Odisha’s Koraput district today.Gandhi, who visited the Hudhud-ravaged in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, is scheduled to visit the cyclone hit areas in Pattangi and Laxmipur after holding an interaction meeting with affected farmers at Jeypore.Adequate security arrangements have been made for Gandhi’s visit, according to IGP (South-Western Range) Y.K.Jethwa.Pradesh Congress Committee president Jayadev Jena and other senior leaders are camping in Koraput for their leader’s visit to the Hudhud affected areas.The storm had crossed the coast near Visakhapatnam on October 12 and had hit several districts in Andhra Pradesh before entering into southern Odisha damaging thousands of thatched houses and large areas of crops.Apart from Gajapati and Koraput, people were also affected by the severe cyclonic storm in Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.
